She entices, beckons, and pleads.
I turn away, trying not to see.
But, I know she will not let me be.
I pass by her, escaping, this time.
Many other matters need my mind today.
Oh, for just one day of peace sublime.
If I pass again, her call will chime.
Her beauty gleams in my mind.
I can't foeget her, although I oft try.
I'll never desert her, or be unkind.
I'll hurry to return to this tie that binds.
When did this start? Long ago, I think,
This love that calls me every hour.
I was so young when I first felt the link,
To this blank white page waiting to marry my ink.
Today, I give in to her lure so bright.
But, tomorrow, I'll go to the store.
I'll ahop for paper with all my might,
Pink, blue, green, anything but white!
