What an original idea--I never would have thought of this, and I loved the imagery and the way the shoes reflected their owner.

Maybe a bit of smoothing out of the meter, for better flow?

I can just imagine this illustrated--quaint and charming.
Interesting piece of poetry.

The imagery of the wooden shoes was clear, but I was not able to grasp the identity or the circumstance of the "stricken, destined"..."wounded" soul - ?

Very unique and vivid descriptions in this colorful poem. Many images are well-described.
I enjoyed this unique take on the topic. Thanks for sharing! :)
Hi to everyone who commented and who read this in the future. First Thanks. This poem and the amazing timing of it all was a God thing. The poem is about my own son, Timmy who wore little wooden shoes given to him by his grandparents. You can view his picture on my facebook page along with
the poem. At the age of 26, in 2007 Tim went home to be with God, perfect now and no longer in pain, he remains in my heart forever and his wooden shoes sit at the bottom of my stair landing. The poem coincided with the 2 year anniversary of his passing. thank you Faithwriters! Coleene VanTilburg
Oh wow... Coleene, this poem is beautiful! It is a moving tribute to your son - it is really amazing that this week coincided perfectly with the anniversary of your son's trip home.
