A coat of many gorgeous colours was woven for her long-awaited firstborn son.
The colours, though, were all selected a long time before the work was begun.
Red was the colour of flesh and blood – Laban’s recognition of Jacob [1]
Blue was the games of deception of which Laban always made an excellent job. [2]
Green was the envious desperation that used another woman in her stead. [3]
Yellow was the character of familiar gods which were stolen when the family fled. [4]
Black was the rotting lie that covers crime and puts golden truth on hold. [5]
Purple stood for fear of danger from a man who had consistently been robbed. [6]
As the child grew handsome and flouted the colours of the coat his mother lovingly wove,
The injustice of it all raised the ugly, violent head of sacrifice which finally drove
Its victim into slavery, a father deceived under cover of the blood of a goat
Which was splattered right across that woven cloth of many colours with a horrible gloat.
It seemed that the years would never end where slavery reigned supreme,
Where lies could easily imprison an innocent man who was living on a dream.
Yet one other gift there grew its fruit in the underground impossible mine
Where men die young, vengeance is king, and the sun never seems to shine.
For there, where the purple danger had been memorialized in stone [6]
The telephonic smoke of holy sacrifice requested God for the sin to atone. [7]
Blood had been poured to represent the Christ, the power of God on the earth
To resurrect, from death and the consequence of evil, any child of the spiritual birth.
Such a child will rise from the tomb or grave and take his mighty place among men
Where none can further touch his innocence as father’s goodness and wisdom live again.
Moreover evil will eventually genuflect to the righteous branch of the tree.
It’s the everlasting theme of humanity ignited by storytellers through all of history.
