“Children! Can’t you both be quiet even for a couple of minutes?” said Mummy, exasperated. “Why can’t you play with each other without fighting?”
“Shirley never listens to me Mummy!” complained June, “She always wants to have her way. Do I have to give in every time?”
“June and Shirley, both of you are sisters, aren’t you? Why don’t you just get along” said Mummy struggling with her cooking. Slowly they left the kitchen to start another game.

“That was the story of Abel and Cain. Do you have any questions children?” asked Miriam as she completed her story. Some nodded their heads. June shot her hand up.”Were Abel and Cain real brothers Aunty?” she piped up. “Of course they were” replied Miriam, “Both of them were the sons of Adam and Eve, the first couple created by God.”
“If they were real brothers, why did Cain kill Abel?” June continued.
“God accepted Abel’s offering and not Cain’s. That is why Cain hated Abel. As children you also may hurt your brothers and sisters, but not with a real hatred like Cain, I am sure. You must forgive each other and love each other as Lord Jesus taught us to.” Explained Miriam.
“My sister Shirley keeps on hurting me Aunty. Do I have to forgive her each time?” enquired June. “Yes indeed June,” replied Miriam patiently, “You should forgive Shirley every time.”
“Even if she beats me unfairly as she often does?” continued June. “I just can’t love her then!”
“But June, I thought that both of you accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour last Sunday? Since then you both are the children of God and so you should forgive and love each other.”
Miriam called Shirley and gathered both the little sisters close to her. She knelt down along with them. “Let’s say the Lord’s prayer together now” she said. All of them said the prayer aloud. “Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins even as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom the power and the glory for ever and ever, Amen.”
June whispered loudly, “Now I know why you made say this prayer Aunty” Why June?” asked Miriam.
“Because it says, ‘forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us’ Am I right?” June said.
“Yes June you are right. God wants us all to forgive each other just as He forgave all our sins. So whenever you have a fight with Shirley, say the Lord’s Prayer in your heart and then turn and forgive her! And Shirley you also must do the same!” advised Miriam.
“Yes I too will” lisped little Shirley tearfully, “But you must pray for me dear Aunty”
“Of course I will. If you love and forgive each other, that will be heaven come down to earth” said Miriam, “Now girls, it is time to go out for the eats”

Mummy was busy peeling the potatoes. She quickly trotted into the drawing room. Both June and Shirley were quietly playing a game of scrabble with each other. “How come you are so quiet girls?” she asked, “I missed your fights and came running to see if you are alright.”
Little Shirley spoke up, “Mummy, Miriam Aunty told us yesterday at the Sunday school that we should love and forgive each other always. So we are not fighting.” “Yes Mummy” continued June, “She showed us that the Lord Jesus wants us to love each other and forgive the hurts. He forgave us and so we need to forgive each other. So there will be no fighting now”. Both the girls hugged and kissed each other.
Mummy hurried to her kitchen wiping tears of joy from her eyes.

Some of the dialogue struck me as not always realistic--not how real children actually speak. And be careful with your speech "tags". It's almost better to just use "said", and to let the person's speech indicate the accompanying emotion.
Little children are
so precious, aren't they?
