one day to the next
I sing while I drive and
I drive while I text
I eyeline at redlights
and gloss at give way
I lipstick at stop signs -
this starts my day...
I eat while I'm walking,
I talk while I write
I nod and I'm laughing
but time is so tight
I rush to the checkout
I run down the block
The minutes are running
straight off the clock
I pick up my children
with moments to spare
I buckle them in while
kissing their hair
And off to gymnastics,
the pools or to dance
each moment is pressured,
with none left to chance...
You spoke to me today,
as I glanced at your Word
while I turned my alarm off -
second time....or third
“Gaze upon the beauty of the Lord”
Woah. When do I have time to gaze?
Sure Lord, I trust You,
I mutter a prayer
as I shuffle my family
from there over here
I guess with all priority
You oughta be
....Scheduled in.
Sorry.
How about we spend some time together? Now?
