It's Bifocals and Bunions
and By-passing strong onions!

Shortness of Breath when you're climbing the stairs,
Semi-Baldness and Beginning gray hairs!

Bay windows and Bursitis --
but there's no use to fight it!

You must be warned of this your sad fate...
But before the great 50's you hate,

Hold your head high, of 50 be proud --
FIFTY IS NIFTY!

Hey, bifocals, bunions and all - I am anticipating a fabulous fifty. : ) Great little poem, even though my sentiments on fifty are in a more positive vein.

Elizabeth, I actually loved this and chuckled out loud at that first stanza. I can almost imagine a twinkle in your eye as you wrote it.

Unfortunately, there was one little problem with your entry. It was just too short to be in the running.

There is a word count rule that all entries must be within 150 to 750 words. Your poem came in at just 65 words, so was way too far under the word count minimum limit - which was such a pity.

I hope you will enter again though in the future. I'm looking forward to seeing some more eye twinkling entries. With love, Deb (Challenge Coordinator)
