A new year is like an empty canvas sitting in front of you. Your talents, faith, dreams, and relationships are like vibrant colors waiting to be splashed onto that canvas! They grab your attention, and you are overwhelmed by the possibilities!
However, many times this canvas is still smudged with last year's efforts that resisted the eraser. In one corner, some resentment remains, in another other corner there is that lost opportunity, on the edge there is the guilt that paralyzes you, and right in the middle is that misunderstanding with someone that meant the world to you. How can you create a new painting with all these stains? Splashing them with paint will not erase them. It may even cause ripples and bumps to appear. The best way to clear the canvas is to find just the right cleaning solution that will remove the stains and cleanse the canvas once and for all. It can't be too strong, for that will destroy the canvas as well as the smudge. And a cleaner that is too weak will not budge the stain. The perfect balance must be found.
Let's see, for the resentment, a dash of kindness will work beautifully! For the lost opportunity, a cup of courage will get to the source of that problem. For the guilt, a hefty gallon of forgiveness will wipe it away! And, for the misunderstanding, a barrel of love will clear the air and warm the heart. Isn't it amazing that Christ's blood is the perfect cleansing solution for all these stains?
Ah, finally a clear canvas! Are you ready to begin? Can you feel the excitement? Take a breath, pick up your brush and follow the Master who is ready to instruct you. Listen carefully, follow the Master's directions, and let him guide your way. Then, gaze upon your creation… a glistening New Year!
