You may get it, of course
But the same day, you could lose your car!
If you pray for more hair,
You might lose all your shares
In Pantepic Coal Mine and Tar!
For the Lord does not give,
For as long as we live
Everything that we ask for and need.
He merely works out
a wise change-about
For all of our good and bad deeds!
So mind what I say,
And think when you pray
Of all of the prime complications-
"Now, can I afford,
To ask of the Lord,
Just at least one more small compensation?"
