My hero is Linda. Linda is my Sunday school teacher and friend. Every Sunday I come to church and she asks me how my week was. Then she leads us in praise and worship. My favorite song goes like this.
“I’m gonna stand on the rock
I’m gonna stand on the rock
I’m gonna stand on the rock
I’m gonna stand on the rock”
When we sing it we jump up and down. Then we sit down and someone else tells a story about God or we watch a video. Sometimes Linda lets me sit on her lap. Then we go in our Sunday school rooms and we play a game and color a picture. Then our mommies pick us up and Linda gives everyone a piece of gum.
Linda also baby-sits me when Mommy and Daddy go on a date. I like when she comes over. She plays with me and Bubba in the backyard until it gets dark. Then we go in and she feeds us peanut butter and honey. She lets me tear up Bubba’s sandwich. When were done eating she makes a bag of popcorn and we watch Veggie Tales. I love Linda.

Am wondering if it was written by an actual first grader. If so, it's amazingly well done. If not, I would imagine a first grader throwing in some comments or observations that might sound a little off-the-wall or cute to grownups. This would add humor to the piece and increase its realism.
