who asked the Lord to enlarge his coast-
Wealth and honor he did not seek,
his small desire was very meek.
He prayed God's hand upon his life
to keep him from a world of strife.
He also asked to be spared much grief,
His prayer was granted through his belief.
In heartache the mother bore this man,
not knowing her child was in God's plan.
His name sake means the "son of sorrow."
yet he's a pillar for us tomorrow,
to boldly ask with faith on fire
for God to grant our hearts desire.
His accomplishments in life I find not quoted,
but his prayer of faith is truly noted.
He was not a prophet, nor above any other,
yet his honor excelled that of his brothers.
A bold request brought this man fame,
Jabez, is his unsung name.
