Walk Not Alone:

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms – 23- 4

Every day we all walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Some of us know it and some of us do not. For some the walk will end in physical death, with little or no warning. The lucky ones will go on to the next day never thinking about how today could have been there last.

We humans are guilty of putting the obvious out of our mind in the vain hope that if we don’t think about it we will be ok. But to us all death will come probably when we least expect it. Even people suffering from a long term illness try not to believe that the end is near. It is human for us all to hold out hope when none exists, but as sure as the sun sets we all have to face death some time.

Will you face it alone, or with a friend or loved one? If the circumstances work out right we may have time to plan out last minutes, and be surrounded by our loved ones. How important is it for our loved ones to be present when we pass on? It will give us peace of mind in our last minutes on earth, but is that really important? How we die is of little importance compared to where we are going after we die.

We are here for such a short time and when we leave we will start a journey of immortality with God. It is so little that God asks of us in exchange for everlasting life with him. All he wants is our love and he will return it to us for eternity along with an everlasting life in his perfect place.

Live life with God and believe in Jesus Christ as your savior and walk through the valley of the shadow of death fearing no evil. See God as the sheep see the Shepard and look to him for your needs with the faith of a sheep in the Shepard. Let his rod and staff be your comfort and fear no evil for he will be with you watching out for you in everything.

Fear no evil as you walk, for with God you never walk alone, and as you walk with God what can there be to fear?

I like your work here. It's a bit depressing, but it has value. I especially like how you mention that humans like to put things out of our minds hoping they won't happen. Very true, and pointless.

There a was a typo or two ("there" last should be their).

I would've like to have seen this fleshed out more. Perhaps adding some personal touches here and there, or adding a fictional element(s) for examples.

Still, you've done a good job. Keep it up.
