To save us from the dark
When Adam did fall and man
Came tumbling after,
He hatched a plan
To patch up human disaster
He gave us laws through Moses
One of his faithful man servants
The law we broke, not having hope
We walked in miry water
The ultimate plan He did reveal
In the birth of His Son Christ Jesus,
Believing in Him, accepting His life
As our own, embracing His death
Burial and resurrection
We will become part of His loving family
Fit for His heavenly kingdom.
Years ago on this walk I embarked
As a budding young teenager
It took me up, it took me down,
It sure did lead me out of
Many suspicious zones
It all began while reading
A book about God’s love
Confessing my sins one day I cried
“Lord you saved others, what about me?
Am I not too one of your daughters?”
My inside lit up, I felt a shower of
Cleansing power rushing through me
I looked around with new eye sight
Seeing the world in a different light
I still never knew that I was saved
But I noticed my actions they were changed
I thought I needed to do some more to
Get in God’s favor and grace.
As time passed by one day I cried
“Lord I think I am saved
In Thee I know I abide but
Let me remember the hour
This miraculous action did transpire
Immediately He rolled back time
As clear as day it entered my mind
That day when as a teen confused
I had whispered my sins in His loving ears
Jesus then assured me, “From that day
Forth your life I have changed
You have been born again, created anew
Now let’s walk together in confidence
And shine in spiritual truth.
My inside was once again lit up
And from then for sure without a doubt
I knew the first time I had called
God heard my cry, and salvation
Became mine for time and for eternity.
