Who exactly made up this thing called 'favoritism'? Was it the ice cream creators looking for a new flavor, only to find the originals were just as delicious? Was it the coaches putting their best friends kid on the pitcher's mound when he belonged in right field? Could it of been the historians carefully documenting the achievements of great fore-fathers, who once investigated were not actually as great as we were led to believe? Favoritism comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors. We have all experienced the sting of the bite of rejection for no other reason than favoritism.
Now comes the good news for those of us that may have suffered more than their share of gross favoritism. It's a thing called Love, and your Father in Heaven gives it unconditionally without any hints of favorites. This concept can only be found through his son Jesus, who he unselfishly sent down here to save our butts, literally that is. So hold your head high the next time you are passed over for a promotion, or told that they will call you if anything becomes available. Look no further than your heart as you feel that favorite feeling of warmth as the Holy Spirit reminds us of our Father who has no regard for favortism.
