Topic: Willingness (02/21/05)
The life that we strive so hard to imitate, the life of Jesus, is one that is filled with failures. We realistically cannot be as perfect as Jesus was and therefore find ourselves unwilling to consistently strive for that perfection. Our unwillingness is due to our willingness to allow Satan, the great deceiver to confuse us to the point of sinful disobedience. We as Christians must reject our own temptations and stop blaming these failures on Satan. Our willingness to constantly be inline with The Word of God is ultimately the answer to all our failures. The word I have hid in my heart, so that I will not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11

We are doomed to fail in living the perfect life - our "unwillingness to be willing" ensures that.

Thanks be to God that he made sure we are covered by Jesus' sacrifice so that our unwillingness does not condemn us.

Some great thoughts in such a short piece. You got me thinking. Thanks for posting.

In reading this, I had to wonder if sometimes we don't do well to remember who is doing the tempting. I know that as a christian it is up to me to refuse the temptation but if I just say it's the temptations of the world, it doesn't seem that important sometimes; but if I recognize the enemy isn't the world per se but Satan's gain if I give in, it makes me stronger. I love short pieces that hit the point immediately and make me think!
