This statement seems easy enough on the surface. But as a Christian living in a fallen place, it
may be a hard task. Every day our senses are assaulted as the world waits on our response.
Searching and seeking to see if they can get a rise out of us or cause to stumble. It is hard to walk
the fine line of, speaking the truth in love, and being reactionary in the flesh.
I believe that is why it is so important to read the Bible every day. It gives us clear instruction
on how to live. On how to operate here. The key to kindness is slowing down your thought
process. It is taking a minute to gather yourself before you reply. It is being mindful that we are
all just a bunch of sinners trying to make it through this world.
For the Christian to be kind, is for the world to not fear a conversation with them. And that, if
anything, should be our goal. Not picket signs and slogans yelled across the street. Not angry
outbursts highlighting the obvious. But honest conversations about who we are. About what the
real problem is. And what the real solution to our human emptiness is. I have talked with many
atheists throughout the years, and one thing I have come to learn is that deep down they have a
contempt for God. They are angry at some perceived notion or wrong about what should have
been.
They key for us, to impact them… is to listen and hear what they are saying, but all the while
seeking to find the depths of their discontent. There is more below the surface to find if we are
patient and kind. And listen with an open mind. Not simply to respond, but to respond in
kindness and love.

However, I had difficulty reading through it because of the varied line spacing of the sentences. It would be easier to read if it was in paragraph form where appropriate instead of severl single sentences.
