Topic: Persecuted (08/22/24)
Are you being persecuted?

John 15:19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you.
20 Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you.

I often share this verse with my Brothers in my Church. Then I ask them if they are being persecuted. If they say no I ask them, “why not”?

Jesus didn’t say we might be persecuted. Jesus said we, “will be persecuted.”

If you think you are not being persecuted, maybe you should ask Jesus, “why not”.

Are you being persecuted? Why not?

If you were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Spot on. This would be a wonderful little thought prompt with a powerful punch.

This could make a great devotion. I like the verse at the beginning. Make sure you either put quotation marks around verses or for devotions you could put them in italics. Also make sure you start beginning of dialog with a capital and use question marks inside quotations when needed. I think if you added a prayer at the end, this would be a great devotion to submit for Faithwriters. You make a good point and have a clear message.
