Overall, I think it is a good story, but it seems to have a few typos. The last paragraph had a sentence or too that I was little confused on what exactly it meant. Perhaps it could have been fleshed out a little to make clarity easier? (I know they don't give us a lot of words to work with.)
The haunting memories of the past can certainly seem to keep reaching out of the darkness to grab us. We cannot undo, redo, or edit the past, but God can forgive it all the same.
Prayer is certainly essential and powerful.
Inner dialogue.
I acknowledge that the past can cast long shadows, but there is 'no shadow of turning with God' James 1:17.
Hold fast to that Scripture and know that after repentance, there is no condemnation. No shadows to be tolerated.
It is handy to read and reread your entry several times, a few hours after or even the next day to find the typos.
I hope you enjoyed writing and entering, because I think expressing ourselves and being a part of a group of like-minded writers is really the whole point.
He gives us joy.
You have shared some intimate details here and I give you huge props for being so courageous. I'd urge you to tell even more if you're comfortable, but to focus on just one idea instead of jumping around. Incomplete sentences are fine in dialog because that's how people speak, but make sure you use complete sentences in the narrative. Transitions are super important too. You don't want the reader scratching her head wondering about things. This can be difficult when telling true stories because the details are all in your head. Ask someone to read it aloud to you before submitting. You've a great start here and I'm excited to read more of your work.
