Breaking apart, my soul’s design,
Hurts unnumbered,
Shattered beyond repair,
No where to turn to,
I fall into despair.
Breaking like bits of bone,
Shattered and tattered,
In the darkness, all alone.
Where is faith in the world of sin?
Does anyone hear me from without
Or from within?
Then it happens, one by one,
My mind breaks open,
My soul undone.
Breaking and shattering,
My heart explodes,
My identity splits,
My mentality implodes.
Here I am two, now three, then four,
Not alone in the world anymore,
Yet how did I get this way?
And how will I be?
Will anyone ever remember
The one that is me?
Then a man steps in,
All dressed in white,
Glowing white hair and
Glowing bright light.
I see the scars
In His hands and feet,
And the brokenness
He felt without defeat.
He lifted me up
And told me His tale,
About His sufferings
And how righteousness prevailed.
Then he took my shattered soul
All the brokenness never I told,
He changed me into
A most beautiful sight,
Of a shattered life
Now put right.
So if you’re broken,
Or battered inside,
By all the abuses
Where sin resides,
Look up, my friends
And see His scars,
The healing He purchased
On wooden bars.
Brokenness is the result of sin
From without or from within,
Makes no difference
To the Son of God,
Who purchased your immortal soul
Whether you’re broken or whether whole,
With outstretched arms of love
He shed His own precious blood.
No longer broken must we stay
Abused or confused in any way,
Being broken isn’t the crime,
It’s unforgiveness that keeps us blind.
For He is the potter and we the clay,
In His arms of love,
We must long to stay.
Breaks no more in a shattered soul
For the Savior and Healer
Comes to make you whole!
