I heard their voices, but not the conversation. Then, a little irate the lady said “Sir, please speak full sentences…”
Immediately my ears perked up. What! How often does that happen?
“Apologies, Susan.”
“Apology accepted.”
She picked up her teacup…put it down again and added another teaspoon of sugar.
“Please repeat the concept Martin. It is essential that I comprehend all the details to the exact specification.”
Their voices became less and less audible as I mulled over what she said.
She was not only irate, for a moment she was lost between logic and reason.
Perhaps only a few words were omitted which resulted in miscommunication and misconception. Misinformation…no clarity; from there it can turn into an unnecessary and ugly situation.
Misinformation. A misdiagnosis. Is that how mother, who weighed about 52 kg most of her life, ended up with three blood pressure tablets, because somebody did not speak a full sentence, neither read the full sentence. Was that the human error, three blood pressure tablets to a person who weighed 52 kg, that caused severe dehydration and permanent disorientation?
Don’t go there…mother is no longer with us.
I reached into my handbag for my tissues.
I ordered another hot chocolate. I forced myself to think of books I have read.
A saying on a bookmark comes to mind “When you sell a man a book, you don’t sell him 12 ounces of paper and ink and glue – you sell him a whole new life.” (Christopher Morley). Well said, Mr Morley.
However, there is only one book that will give you a whole new life, and has done so many a time for many people – the Bible. The emphasis on ‘a whole new life.’
Pro 30:5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
I wrote down the verse in Proverbs on the serviette.
I remembered how my disobedience to my Instinct (a warning about a person I met) caused me to come to the brink of irrationality. Today I still thank the Holy Spirit for His warning. From then on, I paid close attention to what I fed my mind and my friends I placed ‘under’ prayer.
Some people get a kick out of sowing distress and discord. What you read and hear influences your thoughts and thought patterns.
The Adversary only has to cause doubt whereupon the seed of rebelliousness takes momentum, the beginning of losing logic and reason. (2Pe 3:17) (1Pe 5:8)
Fill you mind with the content of the good Book and you will always have clarity, insight, and wisdom in every meeting, transaction and situation that life throws at you.
“A hot chocolate for take-out please.” The waiter curiously looked at the serviette. “You may keep that.”
I went to my mother’s memorial plaque in the graveyard and apologized for the miscommunication on behalf of the medical people.
Psa 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.

One little red ink, in the first paragraph since there were two of them, they were shown to the table, not was shown...other than that I think you wrote a thought provoking and interesting piece.
Paragraph 11 how miscommunication and misconception. Misinformation… no clarity. Just one word or phrase can alter a meaning.
