Topic: BLIND (06/03/21)
People watched Jesus heal and were amazed. Some believed and followed Him because they saw physical healing.

"Great crowds came to Him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled, the mute and many others, and laid them at His feet; and He healed them. The people were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the crippled made well, the lame walking and the blind seeing. And they praised the God of Israel." (Matthew 15:30-31 NIV)

But there is something deeper for us as His followers.

Jesus wants to open the eyes of those who love Him. He wants us to see with our hearts. This means to live our lives recognizing the needs of people we encounter as we go through each day. Just as He did.

"But the crowds learned about it and followed Him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the Kingdom of God, and healed those who needed healing." (Luke 9:11 NIV)

Crowds followed Him everywhere He went, even when He tried to withdraw to be alone with God or instruct His disciples privately. He did not turn them away. He was not annoyed by the interruption. Instead He welcomed them and gave them what they needed.

Jesus wants to work through us to heal the blindness of oppression, the deafness of indifference, the fear of stepping out and taking a stand against injustice

If we are willing He will give us the ability to see people around us who are ignored, forgotten, mistreated. As we go through each day, He will open our eyes to see as He sees. He will help us show compassion, kindness and gentleness to others so they too will be amazed and believe and follow Him.

My prayer is this: Open the eyes of my heart, Lord. I want to see Jesus. I want to be just like Him.

You have a strong message here but it needs more punch. Put the reader into the story rather than telling the reader what Jesus did. Show how Jesus longs to open spiritual eyes and demonstrate the result. Pull the reader in by using emotion.

I'm deeply touched by what you said: "Jesus wants to open the eyes of those who love Him. He wants us to see with our hearts. This means to live our lives recognizing the needs of people we encounter as we go through each day. Just as He did."
This gives meaning and purpose for our existence on earth-- by the grace and kindnesses of our Heavenly Father. Thank you.

That is an excellent observation and as I have mentioned in most of my other posts for this week's topic that I have commented on, Arlene's advice about how to make the entry come alive are so good. May I suggest that you rewrite your entry based upon her suggestions just for yourself and for the practice and seeing how creating a different story around your same theme brings your writibg to life.
