God made man in his image according to Genesis 1 v 26. Let us make man in our image. That, does not mean we have God’s ‘Blood’ or His ‘Breath’.
We further read in Genesis 2 v 7 Yahweh God fashioned man of dust from the soil. Then he breathed into his nostrils a breath of life, and thus man became a living thing. That Breath was more than just oxygen.
However, the more practical side of breath is quite amazing.
A fully formed human being created by God in the image of God. God breathed into man’s nostrils; let there be life. And, there was life on different levels.
However, what the Bible does not describe is what happened on the inside of Adams’ body. The breath in the nostrils had a domino effect.. As the lungs filled with air, (mainly nitrogen, which converts to oxygen once in the lungs) the oxygen is absorbed by the blood, the blood starts to flow.
All of that and more happened in God’s instant.
Furthermore, each, and every person has his/her own blood. Every baby forms its own blood. There is no blood exchange between mother and baby whilst in utero. Nutrients and other elements pass through the placenta, and yet no blood is exchanging.
What is more, Adam was created from dust, God breathed into his nostrils, his (already formed blood) starts to become liquid, and moves through his body, nourishing the organs; whereas a baby, in utero, whose blood is already formed, is liquid and is circulating takes its first breath only after birth.
There truly is just one unique God.
In the Book of Job, chapter 12 v 10 we read: He holds in his power the soul of every living thing, and the breath of each man’s body.
Once blood fails to reach the cells and membranes of the body, thus becoming oxygen starved (breath) they promptly die and no man ever dies until his blood ceases to circulate. This is where mouth-to-mouth resuscitation steps in.
Not only is Christ literally our blood supply, He is our Breath too, and our Spirit.
In conclusion, blood and breath are not apart from one another.
I further conclude with Ps 150 v 6 Let everything that breathes praise Yahweh!
