We may need to take a stroll
Where moments of tears and laughter are stored
And where our heart remembers and cannot be ignored
Starting from when we were a child
We learned about love and smiled
Emotions changed when we were pushed down
With moments of tears and a quivering frown
When we started school we may had felt alone and scared
To write a report we were not always feeling prepared
So standing up in front of the class our faces turned shades of red
With hands shaking and our face sweating until it was all read
When a friend gave us a wonderful surprise
It made our mouths drop with a gleam in our eye
Tears of joy streamed down our face
As our open arms reached out to embrace
Yes, there may have been moments of distress
Biting our lips toiling over the mess
Our bodies shook with a quivering eye blink
Not being able to stand tall but sink
Scowling eyes of anger is the worst
For our hearts are unsettled and tend to burst
We want to fight with fists that shake and swing
As our words spew and sting
Death in our lives bring a saddened frown
And our hearts become like a broken crown
Tears stream down our grieving face
As we hold on to God’s loving Grace
Our face tells our stories in so many ways
This is where our heart and mind interplays
We twist and turn the muscles of our face
Filling our souls with moments we can’t erase
The emotions of our heart will reveal
The expressions of our life that is so real
Our life stories when we were young and old
Have become our God’s given mold
