Topic: FEATHER (08/20/20)
The Haliaeetus Leucocephalus is otherwise known as the Bald Eagle, and this eagle has 7,000 feathers. These feathers consist of interlocking microscopic passageways that are featherlight, but very puissant. It amazes me how our God thought of the major and minor details for every creation of his. Layers of feathers trap air to insulate birds against low temperatures and likewise shields them from the rain. I have often wondered about this when daydreaming as I was looking out of the window.
To me, our American Bald Eagle is one of the largest most magnificent members of the raptor family. A carnivorous large-sized bird (such as a hawk, another of my favorites, eagle, owl, or Vulture) all blessed with large talons as well as a hooked beak who feeds wholly or chiefly on meat taken by hunting or on carrion) bird of prey.

The term " bald " has nothing to do with the absence of feathers on its head. It is known as the " Bald " eagle because of the striking pattern of its white head, dark body, and whitetail. Oh, I also love the yellow beak and feet.

Its spacious, sinewy wings enable the eagle to carry objects which approach its weight of approximately twelve pounds. As our nation's symbol of freedom and strength, the bald eagle shows up on our money, and flags, buildings, and even our postage stamps.

Proverbs 30:17 (NKJV) " The eye that mocks his father, And scorns obedience to his mother, the ravens of the valley will pick it out, And the young eagles will eat it."
One last verse that comes to mind pertains to our God-given ability to rise from sin and engraft God's Word into our hearts and souls. (Isaiah 40:31) " But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint."
The mighty American Bald Eagle is an overcomer, a problem solver. For example, nature can throw just about anything at the mighty eagle is designed to attain its maximum potential in whatever circumstances thrown his way. A destructive storm allows it to reach extreme heights above it. Or say the scarcity of food forces it to look sharp and develop incredible speeds and dead-on diving abilities.

My husband loves bald eagles. On a recent camping trip, he captured on his phone camera, a bald eagle grabbing a fish from the lake. I enjoyed this story. God bless.
