Topic: ANCIENT (06/04/20)
When we think of ancient we equate it to something that is very old and often times extinct. In our modern technological age we put God and Christianity in those buckets. They both have been around for centuries and with all our advanced knowledge many think we have outgrown the need for them.
The word ancient comes from the Latin word anteanus, which means before. In light of that, God definitely came before anyone or anything else. Since He was around before anything else happened we can assume that He is ancient wisdom; which we see as valuable even today.
We spend much time uncovering ancient ruins and writings to discover people and knowledge lost over time. Yet we often avoid taking time to discover the wisdom learned by times and peoples that is tucked into the Bible.
God's knowledge is not out of date for we use its principles to live successful lives. They are the ones that the core of successful business practice is built on. It is ancient knowledge that is not out of date.
The principles of Christianity were the things we built our democracy on. It has been said that the 100 core writings that make up the foundation of our constitution contain the principles or words found in the Bible; God's Word.
God told us about Christianity back in the times of Jeremiah who lived in ancient times; 650 BC." I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Jeremiah31:33 NRSV). I think that means that Christianity is ancient but not out of date. Because we use its principles to build a civilized people.
What is ancient? I propose our stubbornness is ancient. Hatred, violence, prejudice, and lawlessness are all ancient. They should be out of date and extinct, but they aren't. Ancient things and people can be good or bad it depends on their value.
The above items should be discarded and the ancient view that God has suggested through the ages should be revered. This wisdom says we should love our neighbor, do good to everyone and be respectful to authority. If we continue to disregard this ancient wisdom we will become an ancient civilization and forgotten ourselves.

We certainly need His wisdom, especially in these days. Prov. 9:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Spaces between the paragraphs would have made it easier to read.
