When I was in elementary and secondary school, the past haunts me when I think of the time that I was often bullied. When I was a senior in elementary school, one boy often called me a "retard." I just ignored him, and I often complained to the teacher who did not do anything about it. That boy often got in trouble from our teacher for his stubborn behaviour.
When I entered high school, I got punched in the back or the head when I was in the 9th and 10th grade. There was no apparent reason for it. I just sat at my desk trying to get my assignments done in class. I told the teacher, and she told me to deal with it. Back when I was in high school, the teachers did nothing to help students who were bullied.
When I was bullied at school, I cried coming home on the school bus or I would cry to my mother who told me to hit back. A few times I did, but it did not do much good. I started to develop depression where I cried a lot more than I used to.
When I entered grade 11, I was not bullied at all, but a few students who loitered around the hallways made fun of me, but that I did not pay attention. I was taught to ignore people, and that it is what I tried to do.
I needed someone to love me besides God. I was 19 to my early 20's at that time. I felt so alone that I turned to booze. I bought a bottle, and I drank it at home. Other times I would drink at the restaurant across from where I lived with my parents.
I had this neighbour who next door to me when I was living with my parents. We had some good times together. She was 4 years older than me. I felt like she controlled as to what I should or should not do. She got her husband involved as well. She me for my money, and told me that I was getting a car if I kept giving her about 300.00 a month even from my credit card! I was in serious debt! I never seen the car. She and her husband took a trip to Cuba. They must have took used my money when they took that trip!
I don't anything to do with my friend or her husband anymore, but I have to forgive like Jesus wants us to. I can forgive, but sometimes I can't forget.
Today I try to look at it as ancient history, and not to look back at my past. I have to focus on my family, and the plague)(covid 19 that has affected the whole world.
