Topic: FINISHED (04/09/20)
“He said, ‘It is finished!’ But what does that mean?”
“I don’t know. He has always been a bit mysterious to me. He said a lot of things that didn’t make sense to me. It never occurred to me that a time would come when we wouldn’t have an opportunity to ask him what he meant. He was always so good about explaining himself.”
“Do you think that with all that has happened that he was caught by surprise and he thought that he would have more time to explain things so that we would know what he meant?”
“No, somehow I know deep down that he told us everything we need to know. I just can’t seem to put it all together and make sense of it in my mind right now.”
“Well, I don’t know what to think. We always spoke of him as though nothing could stop him or stand in his way. With everything that has happened over the past week, I am just confused, and my mind is plagued with doubt.”
“Oh Thomas, don’t break faith now. We both know that with him, everything has a purpose and that everything he said means something. We will just have to wait to see what comes next.”
“I hate waiting! It only deepens my doubt. I sure would like to know what he meant though. ‘It is finished!’ What strange thing to say!”
“Patience brother! Time will bring you the answers you seek.”
“I know you are right. It is just hard for me. For tonight, I am just going to sleep on my doubts. In the meantime, Peter, would you please pass me the wine?”

Unique take on a conversation. From the start, I had no clue who was talking. It would have been easier had you introduced the speakers at the beginning of their conversations, and add body language. Also, allow spacing between each person speaking. You have a good foundation for a great dialogue. Keep on writing!

I agree with the above comment. You need to set the scene, either by description or through body language.

I love, love, LOVE stories that center around dialog. It sets a good pace for the reader. Inserting a bit of action here and there helps. The body language. What the person is doing as he is talking. Gestures. Etc.

The story has great potential and could be developed further. I enjoyed it.
