Facing a task that is impossible can be very overwhelming; and can cause us to give up that dream of graduating from college, building a business, participating in a sporting event, writing that first novel, cookbook, poem, short story…etc.
Many…including myself have allowed others to convince us that it would be impossible for us to attain the dream of becoming a bestselling author; hearing the enemy whispering in our ears that we are not good enough. No one would be interested in reading our material. We sometimes literally have become our own worst enemy. We have allowed the possible, to become impossible.
We…as the “household of faith” have entertained our own fears, and succumbed to the negativity racing within our minds, which often results in failure to fulfill our dreams, and goals.
Yet our Creator clearly says in His word that: “all things are possible to those who believe” (paraphrase)… So why the doubt? We have a Creator that has the capability to do anything, yet we still somehow find it hard to believe, and trust in His strength to help us get the job done.
While deciding what to write in this week’s challenge, I began to meditate on the word “impossible”, and what I could share with you. Then moments later… It was like a light bulb came on. I received a revelation that I had never gotten before. And it lies within the word impossible…
God showed me that the word “impossible” was no accident. Because within the word, God has given us the revelation of His ability to do anything. Even in the scriptures God says in 2 Corinthians 12:9: “that His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.” (paraphrase)
Now that we have been reminded of this…let’s take a look at the word “impossible.” Let’s break it down…
If we take the word “possible” out of the equation, which God says that in Him…”all things are possible”; what do we have left? The letters “I” and “m”… Or we can say: “I’m”… Or spell it out and say: “I am”…
I am reminded of the story of Moses in Exodus 3:14; when Moses asked God what to say to those whom he was delivering the message to, as to who sent him… God told Moses to say: “Tell them that ‘I Am Who I Am’ sent you…” (paraphrase)
So think about it… If God tells us clearly in His word that: “all things are possible through Him” (paraphrase)…when we look at the fear of the impossible. We need to understand that God is saying that within our weakness of impossibility, God is our strength that makes things possible. For “the household of faith” He is telling us that I’m (or I Am) possible within your impossible.
So again... we no longer need to fear when we come up against the impossible. For within our weakness in the impossible, God is our “possible” to overcome.
So the next time we hear and/or read the word impossible…just say to ourselves: God I know that within the impossible that I am facing…You are telling me that: You are the “I’m (or) I am” within our impossible to overcome any challenge I face.
