in our newspapers to be had,
or maybe by electronic feed,
so many ways to read
News, good news,
the newsboys cry,
or did in days gone by,
how times do fly.
We look for news
but when it comes,
gossip over the back fence
is better than none.
No news is good news
so the pundits say,
but we would have it
delivered in some way.
Satellite dishes beam
the news from the skies,
so everyone around the world
knows when someone dies.
In olden times by Cobb and Co
coach the news would go,
till penny postage started,
and our postal system has begun.
John the Baptist told
the Messiah would come,
the predictions told him
Christ was the one.
God's good news
sent Christ to earth,
by his birth and death
people can have a new birth.
Today we have video and TV
to spread the news we see,
and still the telephone,
which anyone can own.
