Topic: ANNOYED (04/05/18)
I was annoyed.I was irritated.My world was falling apart.Right in front of my eyes.Both my alarm and internal body-clock , had failed me.By the time,I opened my eyes,I had already missed my bus.Now I was late for work.

Before all that happened,the hot-water tank had burst,drenching the carpet and flooding the rest of the house. My errant,obedience trained dog, had chewed my favourite pair of Boots.From the way he was wagging his tail he was very pleased with himself.

On top of that,my trusty oldish laptop, that I had bought second hand ,gave off beeping, buzzing sounds.I am sure that meant something was wrong,except the laptop did not come with a manual and now it was not switching on.As if that was not enough,I had not submitted that all important paper,that my supervisor was waiting for.Deadline missed,again.

On days like these,when my world is seemingly falling apart at the seams.I wonder about God's great plan for my life.I am tempted to question his sovereignity.I ask those all important,big questions "Why is this happening to me?". "Does God care I missed my bus?". "Does God care that I missed another deadline?". "Have I missed God's schedule?".

I have to confess that I can be quite the drama queen sometimes. A control freak of sorts who gets annoyed at inconveniences and disruptions.A christian that gives themselves a gold -star and a pat on the back when things go my way.I thrive on the hassle-free christian walk. Everything has to go according to the script,that I jotted down for myself. Every choreographed step has to be perfect. Then again this is planet earth.

So what if the hot-water tank burst, and drenched the carpet. So what if my laptop just "died". Maybe just maybe inconveniences are another opportunity for God's blessings. Another reminder to slow down,count it all joy and keep on moving at God's pace.

The Apostle Paul is one person who knew how to maximize, inconveniences and disruptions.He was shipwrecked,beaten, imprisoned and even stoned ( 2 Corinthians 11:24-28 TLB) .Yet he was never swayed nor did he complain or become bitter of all the minor and major inconveniences he faced in his christian walk.

As I waited for the second bus,dog forgiven,cold shower forgotten,deadline extended.I sent a silent prayer to God....
Help me to lose the ground of my heart to you inch by inch.Help me to abdicate my throne for you.Help me not to be afraid to live on your schedule.Amen

I think this would make a good devotional. You start off with a personal story, bring in relevant scriptures, and end with a fitting conclusion. Nice job.

Your writing shows what being annoyed loks like in real life! I really like the prayer ending. I need to let God be in control more. One area that you could work on is comma usage. Thank you for sharing and keep writing!
