Early on in life I discovered that home was not just a house but it was any place that I shared with my Mom and Dad. That was home. Moving and living in five different residences before my twenties led me to understand that mobility is good, as long as I was with my parents. Home was there, living in their presence.

When I married and was blessed with a husband and four children and we moved four different times, home was anywhere that included the six of us. That was home.

Now that I'm a great-grandmother, my husband and I share a condo that is complete with just the two of us. That is home.

The grandchildren and great-grandchild come often to visit. Some of their homes are broken, and not all of them share a mother and father living together in the same house. That is not a home. That is heartbreak.

But there is a home for the heartbroken, and everyone else, and it is just perfect. It is our heart, but it must be occupied by Jesus. That is truly home.
