Topic: ONEROUS (03/02/17)
Life can be troublesome
a burden or oppressive,
look on the bright side
and you will surely miss it.

Many people have burdens
they can hardly ever bear,
they do not know yet
God loves them and cares.

Oppressive regimes abound
all this world around
communism, Islamism, and
dictators by the pound.

Many things trouble us,
ill health and limits of age,
but with a positive attitude,
we can beat this stage.

God's in his Heaven still,
all's right with his world.
God had it all planned out
as the centuries unfurled.

God planned to send Jesus
to the world undone
to be put right by
the death of his Son.

Life lays many burdens
on our daily lives
bombs and petty distractions,
how can we survive?

Jesus has the answer,
cast our cares on him,
he will make them lighter
if we trust, we win.

Thanks for an enjoyable poem. Good thoughts. I wish I had more experience in critiquing poems, all I can say is what I liked. It had a good message. Red ink, my opinion only, some of the rhythm seemed to be off. I count syllables. God bless

One answer he gives is found in James 1. "Count it all JOY when you encounter various trial."

Trials are the stepping stones we need to grow up to the measure of Christ.

Poetry is not usually my favorite, but I needed to hear the words you wrote. I can't go into too much detail, but trust me that the Holy Spirit used your poem to lighten my dark heart right now. God bless.
