Soon comes a busy day
There's so much of activity
filling my day
A new phase then begins
at the start of another day
A fresh new day is dawned
and ends like yesterday
Rushing here and there
meeting needs and wants
deadlines and obligations
of a father, spouse and teacher
Like a juggler
I try to balance life
Get wife to board the Rehab van
Rush to work; fetch her home
Have I forgotten
how I slipped away
heading towards my father's arms
when life's overwhelming
Alas I'm not a child
I strive to be an adult
for the sake of honour--
a veneer of propriety
On Jesus's life I reflect
Despite his schedule's tight
with teaching, healing and feeding
never without a rest and prayers
He set aside the time
to spend with His Father
in prayers away from the world
He's never haggard and hurried
Yes, time and tide
waits for no man
Will I spend time alone
to experience His strength
May I hear Him more clearly
Come unto Me
All those who are heavy-ladened
and I will give you rest
