"Escape"

What does it mean?

Escape can mean different things, to different people. Are you wishing
to escape FROM something,... or to escape TO something?

For Christians, by belief in The Words of Jesus, we can experience BOTH!

Jesus told us, "Watch, therefore, and pray always, that you may
be accounted worthy to ESCAPE all these things that shall come
to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man." (Luke 21:36)

Judgement is coming. Hard times are coming. Jesus says we
can escape these things which are coming upon the Earth.

On the subject of Salvation, the writer of the book of Hebrews tells us,
"How shall we ESCAPE, if we neglect so great salvation?"
(Hebrews 2:3)

Peter seemed to understand better than others, what our mission is
to be here on this Earth,... namely, to ESCAPE corruption,... to get
to a place of "connection" with God,.. to receiving "His Divine Nature"
which we can acquire through belief in His Great Promises!

Peter tells us, "Great and Precious promises are given to us, that by
them we might be partakers of His divine nature, to ESCAPE the
corruption of this world through lust." (II Peter 1:4)

The invitation is to everyone: "Whoever will, let him come and take of the water of life freely." (Revelation 22:17)

Jesus IS the Water of Life. HIS NATURE within us is the Key! He was
able to ESCAPE the corruption of this world. ONLY by His same nature
within us, can we ever hope to do the same! It's actually NOT you and
me who the work of escaping! It is the very nature of God, The Holy Spirit
of God within us, which does the escaping in us!

It's a matter of control. Either you (and your flesh) are in control,...
or it's the very nature of God, through the Holy Spirit within you, who
is in control. Our Job is to yield control to Him! His job is to do the
escaping through us!

Besides yielding our flesh to Him, we also need to yield our minds to
Him! The Bible says, "Present your BODIES to God,... (and) by the
renewing of your MINDS,... that you prove what is that perfect will of God."
(Romans 12:1-2)

Believe His promises. Obey His call. Let HIM do the work through you.

I fully agree that the hard times, the times of travail, are upon the earth. We are not just to escape from hard times and corruption, but we are to work in the harvest field, with the Holy Spirit's guidance to enable others to escape.
I would have liked a little more about to what we are escaping. Are we escaping to be Christ's servant and partaker of His nature and likeness or are we simply escaping to the assurance we will be better persons and be taken up with Him to Heaven?
