Topic: PROCRASTINATE (08/04/16)
PROCRASTINATION

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few”. Matthew 9:37 NASB

There is much to be done to assist in furthering God’s kingdom here on earth. Nations continue to rise up and make war against their neighbors. Religious ideologies strive to further their cause by killing anyone who may disagree with their thoughts. Misguided individuals rob, rape, and murder to satisfy their selfish desires. The Golden Rule which Jesus taught has often been replaced by the rule, “Do it to others before they do it to you”.

As individuals we may not be able to right all of the wrongs of today. We may not be able to slay today’s Goliath with a sling shot like the young boy David slew his Goliath of old. We may not be able to push over the pillars of today’s palaces of injustice as Sampson did in bygone days. We may not be equipped to stop the murderous rampage of a deranged person that is intent on killing patrons in a night club because he disagrees with their life style.

However, as members of society, we can stop procrastinating and join together to fight against evil. We can support our Armed Forces as they face down the tyranny of groups like ISIS or ISOL. We can support our Police in their efforts to protect us from anyone intent on doing us harm. We can be more caring toward those in need. As Jesus directed us, we can feed the hungry, cloth the naked, shelter the homeless, and care for the sick. It is the time for action, not procrastination.

Father, help us to be better workers: send us into the field to help in your harvest. Amen

I enjoyed this piece. It was a call to action. It was a great reminder that we can't put off doing the work God calls us to.
