When they'd gone to the parlor to rest
Someone would say, "Tiffany, darling,
Why not entertain all of the guests?
Why, you're such a lovely young lady
With long tapered fingers so fine
You know that the comp'ny won't like it
If you should pretend to decline!
So Tiffany played the piano
And entertained all of the guests
While Sally was out in the kitchen
"Yes, Sally could clean up the mess!
Yes, Sally was out in the kitchen
Among all the pots and the pans
While Tiffany played the piano
With beautiful petal soft hands!
And she played herself into a romance
But no transportation had he
So she drug Sally out of the kitchen
And got her a prospect, you see!
A good prospect, too, with an auto!
"A way that we both can have dates!"
"Oh, Sally won't mind to go with us
We promis to not stay out late!"
And Tiffany then soon was married
And tried to be what she should be
But somehow it just din't suit her
And soon she was out on a spree!
And Tiffany lost her love partner
(A jewel that is polished so fine
could never survive this rough setting
less candles and roses and wine!)
And Sally and all of her children
And sometimes her husband, too,
Took turns doing dishes from dinner
And out of it happines grew,
And now the the years have passed by them,
And whether or not by request,
Well, Tiffeny plays the piano
And Sally still cleans up the mess!
