Topic: INDEFATIGABLE (02/11/16)
The undying hope of a hog, frogs and a spot on a log

Oh! Where do I go when I'm broken Lord?
Feeling failed and weary beyond repair

When renewal's
chance seems slim,
When I've allready done that ...
been there

Oh transforming Lord
I'm STILL hopeful,
yet my hope sometimes seems dim

For it's into this self inflicted, unrequited chasm
in which I vainly spin

I'm so tired of trying to
sing " The thrill is gone"
in a major key

I'm so tired of
the likes of a
Pinocchio in a mirror
always eyeballin' and pokin'
back at me

I'm so tired of being
a boiling potted bullfrog
croaking through that thickening,sickening fog

I'm so tired of wondering
"Where is it Lord ?
Where is MY magnificent joyous marsh?"

With those beautifully moonlit
cattails
against
lilly pad's sweet song...

full of many "Jeremiahs" knowing
it's THERE that they belong

AND Lord, I'm so tired,'
so very tired
of my own self loathing HARSH!

But
Here I am again Lord
Even though I promised
to YOU I'd stop

Returning daily
Like some kind of
prodigal pig wallowing in
my own pugnacious slop

Through YOUR undying Grace Lord,
may the ONLY time
you cease
to hear from me
this pitiable dialogue...

Be when I finally let go and find MY croaking spot
upon YOUR rapturous
and loving
life affirming log!

Your title drew me in, and I liked how you told your poem (story) through the bullfrog's P.O.V.

HOPE seems a very apt application of the word "indefatigable" to me. It's possible to be TIRELESS though TIRED - incongruous as it may sound...as you clearly felt through this poem. Thanks for describing the agony.
I'm not a student of poetry, but I felt it would've been good to have the rhyme sequence contained within each stanza, as I lost the rhythm at the first couple of readings. It is possibly just a layout problem - ie my eye expects the groupings to provide me with a hint as to the rhythm. I hope this makes sense.
I'm joining you at this level next entry, so we'll meet again! 🙂
