The word peace can be defined as tranquility, harmony or security. Depending on the situation, I could mean prosperity or well-being. Various forms of the word peace are found 429 time in the King James Version of the Bible. For the Christian, Philippians 46-7 gives us the best and most pointed explanation for the word peace. “Be anxious for nothing; but, in all things, with prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, make your request known to God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Meditating on these words, gave to me incentive to write this poem:
SINCE I KNOW JESUS
I used to wonder
Just where I’d be;
Till Jesus came and rescued me.
He took all of my sorrows,
Soothed my soul,
Lifted my spirit,
And made me whole.
I can now rejoice.
I hear His voice;
And I know, I know,
Jesus has set me free.
Heartaches are gone,
I’m no longer alone,
Since I met Jesus.
Tears now subside;
For He’s by my side;
And today,
I look only to Jesus.
Yesterday’s passions
Are no longer mine -
Since I know Jesus;
Hope, once lost;
Is now my gain;
For, I now,
Look only to Jesus.
He is my peace!
Jesus has all the answers
Anyone will ever need.
