Should I or Shouldn’t I

Let’s see. Should I write an article for Faithwriters this week or shouldn’t I?

Never do I start an argument or debate with anyone, I’m just really too meek and mild. Fearing that another would become agitated at my remarks, I found it much better to keep my silence.

As a young child, I couldn’t compete with my brother and sister, they were smarter than I. So I just stood in the middle of the floor and screamed at the top of my lungs. That always stopped any argument which might be brewing. Of course, I usually received a healthy closing argument statement from Mother. She had a way about her that would squelch any discord among us.

At school, my arguing consisted of telling the teacher that she was in error with her Social Studies lesson on Russia. I knew more than she did, because my daddy was a lawyer and he knew about what was happening in that country. Consequently, my superior knowledge and I stood out in the hall for the rest of the period.

Because I was such a good screamer, My mother decided that my voice must be very beautiful, so she proceeded to give me singing lessons. At age ten, my voice was so well developed that the teacher didn’t need to continue giving me lessons any longer. The fact that I told her I could sing just as well as she did, surely wouldn’t have been the reason for the teacher terminating my time there.

I stayed pretty quiet up until my Freshman year in college. This English professor, who always left breakfast material on his lips, had the nerve to tell me that my composition was not adequate for the assignment which he had given. Being ever so delicate, I informed him of his linage, where upon he graciously changed my grade from a D to an F! He and I never saw eye to eye again.

Oh yes, my loving husband always out debated me. He had taken a debate course in college, and was quite good at it. But in the end, I won most arguments simply by not speaking to him for several hours or by burning his supper.

Our prodigy learned at a very early age, that when mother spoke, they were to move. The children and I never argued. When they might have the nerve to ask why they had to do a certain chore, they were told ,”Because I said so! Also it builds character.”

Now you have been given the Cons for writing a Faithwriters article. It’s time to give the Pros.

There is the fact that… No, it’s not a good reason. Well I can***. Why not try###. None of these are good choices. I need to come up with something really clever.

Oh, phooey, I guess I’ll write one because I like to write. I sure hope I can come up with something. I PROMISE NOT TO STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR AND SCREAM!
