Topic: Husband and Wife (08/08/14)
I’m proud to have a husband who is a man.
Who loves and protects me like no other can.
He is the head of the family, and focus of my heart.
Wherever our lives lead us, we will never part.

What can I say; it's been forty-seven years
of love, joy, struggles, and tears.
Five babies died, testing our marriage vows,
God intervened and five more he endowed.

There were kids everywhere in our early days,
The best of times, like children we played.
Watching each grow to mature daughters and sons,
Forgetting the quarrels, but remembering the fun!

Respect is the key to a happy bond.
Yelling or complaining is no way to respond.
A quiet voice, although hard to achieve,
Will prevent an argument, so both are pleased.

A marriage license is a legal permit,
Much more than a happy ticket.
Ii is a promise to keep till death do us part,
Not only when the benefits start

It does not matter where you live,
With friend or foe or relatives.
If you are guided by true faith,
God will sustain you in His grace

Growing old together isn't so bad
When you have a family who loves mom and dad.
Who follows our example to live their lives
as God imparted as husbands and wives.

Couples should read this, frame it, and hang it over the mantel piece. This is a sure fire way to make a marriage work.

I was thinking the same as Lynn...this should be framed and hanging on the wall. I'll bet one of the five will do that for you this Christmas. :)

Such a powerful testimony of love and devotion.

My heart weeps for those couples that will never experience such joy.

My wife and I have been married 46 years and have seven children.

Our prayer every day is that our children will experience the happiness my wife and I have had and still have because of our close relationship with God and our Lord.

I liked it and the story it told.

It was easy to read because of the rhythm in each line. The rhyming words were also well chosen.

To me it seemed this may have been an easy poem for you to write.
