Hi, my name is Tuffy; I'm a rental car that is stationed at the airport in St Louis. Someone named Ken rents me and plops into the driver's seat. I hope he didn't have too many candy bars, he might get nutty behind the wheel.

I hear him talking to someone on the phone; he says he's driving to Minnesota. I get nervous about people who take me on long trips.

About thirty minutes into the trip, Ken is listening to the news. My bumpers start rattling when I hear that a blizzard warning is being issued for the state of Iowa. I hope Ken is a good driver; if I get into a car accident there may not be a Bandaid big enough to fix the bruises.

We're in Iowa now, and oh boy, the roads are covered with snow. Ohhhh, I'm sliding by the I-80 entrance ramp.

Ahh, we're on I-35, just north of Des Moines, Iowa. Ken is slamming on the brakes and is spinning out. Oh my gosh, thank you, Jesus, I didn't go into the ditch. I wish Ken would be more careful.

Praise the Lord! I can see the pavement, hopefully we're almost there. No, no Ken, please don't put the gas pedal on the floor; there might be black ice. The last thing I need to do is get hurt. Ple…ase, Ken, slow down.

I seem to be in a city now, I can see the bumpers of other cars. Ken just turned on the right turn signal. Phew, I can breathe a sigh of relief. I think I will be able to make it to my destination.

Eeek! Ken is running a red light. Watch out for that red SUV! I'm about to get a bloody nose; thank God that was another close call.

The sun has gone down, I'm glad this day is over; now I can rest in Bloomington, Minnesota. I know my driver, Ken, must be real happy with me because he survived the trip.

I can assess my trip and reflect on the good and the bad. The good is I arrived, I didn't break down , and no one got hurt. The bad part was, once again, I didn’t trust the Lord. I let the snow and ice get to me. It can be so hard to trust people's driving skills. I need to work on trusting the Lord even when the driver puts the pedal to the metal.
