THE BRIGHT MORNING STAR

Each day begins anew
Thanksgiving ushered up
In prayers to my dear Lord
Who fills my daily cup

Each morn when I awake
I discern how to cope:
Jesus died for everyone
To give us eternal hope

He is within my heart
Every moment of each day
As I seek His will for me
In all aspects as I pray

His answers given to
As I seek Him all I can;
Prayer always constantly
Does portray my Lord’s true plan

Every day He does do this
In my life and in my heart
As I live each day in awe
As He draws His lines of art

All my days begin with Christ
As He’s the Bright Morning Star -
And when the sun does set
Stands my King forevermore

The title reminds me of a Fernando Ortega song. :) Lovely poem. The fifth verse was my favorite, especially the line about art. That is so true.

Very sweet--the kind of inspirational poem you might find on a bookmark or a greeting card.

My critique would be that this seems to be more about "morning" than "day's end." Except for the last two lines, it's really a morning poem, and therefore might be rated a bit low for the "on topic" criterion.

I loved the part about discernment of how to cope--something that I certainly need every day.

The last two lines are the 'punchline', per say, regarding the 'Day's End' topic as each day ends after the morning begins and the day progresses and then ending with Christ being the start of the next morn; as He is all aspects of our 'days' :)
