My life was an open book…..a heart laid bare;
Longing and searching for someone to care.
He said all the words I longed to hear;
Held me close and took away my fear.
I couldn’t wait for that special day
When we’d become one in every way.
The promises were whispered and
plans we’re made
“I love you babe,” he would daily say.
Then all of a sudden, he was gone
With no explanation, I was left alone.
There were no harsh words….not even a goodbye
Just a heart left bleeding and wounded inside.
“He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing” my friends would say
“No,” I cried, “There’s no way!”
“He’s my soul mate, the one God chose for me;
“Why my friend….Why can’t you see?”
“He’s the one I’ve searched for and prayed for God to send
To heal my broken heart and help me love again.”
He’s always in my mind and never far away
His memory haunts me each and every day.
Now GOD alone comforts me and reminds me HE is near
HE will never leave me or forsake me, and HE is always here!
