I say a little prayer,
That the Lord will treat
My fireman, with lots of tender care.
Please keep him safe for me,
Because my heart, he does hold dear.
I leave my worries at the cross,
For I know he keeps you near.
Each time that the alarm sounds
His heart begins to beat fast.
Always true, he calls on you
Trusting, in a love that lasts.
As the flames devour, and he
Does battle with the beast.
Give him strength and courage,
To help the very least.
Always prepared to fight,
When the call comes in.
Going wherever help is needed
Even though he may not win.
A beautiful sacrifice
He is willing to give.
Rushing through the flames and smoke
So that you may live.
Beautiful sunrise, Beautiful sunset,
Whenever smoke is showing.
Always ready, Always willing
My fireman will be going.
