Topic: Sizzle (05/02/13)
The time has come for Christians to sizzle not fizzle. America is very dark because Christians have lost their courage. We have allowed ourselves to sit quietly in lukewarm churches without doctrine or the Gospel. We are afraid of the PC police and our government policies. We have allowed ourselves to go along with whatever is comfortable. We are afraid to take a strong stand for Christ.

We wink at sin and engage in the same activity as the unsaved. Our testimoney for Christ has been abandoned in words and in actions.

We have allowed the media to minimize us and call us weird, crazy and old fashion. Christ called us to take up His cross and follow Him no matter what others say or think. He told us life would be hard. For Christians in America, we are about to find out how hard.

Christ called us to be salt and light. We are to be different because we have been transformed and not conformed. We are to evangelize, pray daily for local, state and national leaders, read and memorize the Word, live like Christians, and be ready to give a defense of our beliefs. Christians should speak up when Christian values and standards are demonized and marginalized.

We must stand against any form of evil. In the last few days, abortion has raised its ugly head in the photographs in Dr. Gosnell's court case. Yet, it seems few are outraged--including Christians. It's easier to turn our heads and pretend these crimes were not committed. We have lost our conscience of good and evil.

We can learn a lot from Daniel. He had character, motivation and conviction when he stood against kings and kingdoms. We must find the same character, motivation and conviction to stand in today's world. Without character, motivation and conviction, we are empty cymbals crying in the wilderness.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer said, "To endure the cross is not tragedy; it is the suffering which is the fruit of an exclusive allegiance to Jesus Christ." It's time Christians find their exclusive allegiance and stand up before it's too late.

Your article is a great reminder that Christians are becoming more like the world instead of the world becoming more like us. Christians should stand up against sin, especially abortion. People see this as not a sin calling the baby a "fetus", make it not a person. Our nation has killed more babies than many of the old nations in history. Thanks for giving a voice to babies and giving Christians the courage to make a stand.
