They are dry and do not seem to move
Seeds don’t appear to grow or stretch
Or breath, or look alive
Some seeds are eaten by birds
Other seeds become diseased and die
But, many seeds
Will drop into the soil and wait to germinate
If we could see what was going on
Inside that tiny flower seed
We would see leaves and even a root system
Being nourished, waiting for development
Sometimes seeds are blown into the desert by the wind
Sometimes seeds are dropped into the soil by birds
While other seeds are planted by the gardeners own hand
In gardens and parks all around the world
Healthy seeds will eventually sprout
When the conditions are just right for survival
With plenty of warmth, light and water
The germinating seeds will send a root into the soil
Green leaves will begin to form and stems will start to grow
Slowly, tiny blooms form, then open
And turn into beautiful flowers
That will adorn our gardens and parks all around the world
And so it is with spiritual seeds
Some become diseased and die
While others never see the light of day
While other seeds sprout and grow
Luke 8:15
And the seeds that fell on the good soil
Represent honest, good-hearted people
Who hear God’s word, cling to it,
And patiently produce a huge harvest.
