O how beautiful is the Bride,
meek and quiet in spirit beside .
Her heart whom she’s surrendered
to His voice, obeying the Shepherd
Her pursuit of pleasure—to please her Lord.
Pure is the Bride, she consecrates her life--
Cleansed by the washing of His Word.
Her delight to abide in her Lord
to follow closely, faithful and true;
Her pursuit of pleasure—seeking her King.
Truthfully beautiful is the Bride of grace
Seeking her Master’s face
Daily yearns for God to bless her--
She yields not to the world’s glitter.
Her pursuit of pleasure—satisfied in His care.
Truthfully beautiful Bride, meek and lowly;
Shamefaced-filled is her gracious heart.
Beautiful is she, her own glory hidden;
Perfect peace within her when the Saviour exalted.
Her pursuit of pleasure-- His glory radiant.
Truthfully beautiful Bride of Christ
Unfashioned by pride of life,
Dying to self, to the Cross of Calvary, she abides.
She yearns for Him, learning of Him daily,
Her pursuit of pleasure--faithfully awaiting His return.
The beautiful Bride, she never lose sight
of His beauty of holiness--His perfect will she seeks.
Truthfully beautiful is the Bride whose heart wholly His;
Yielded to Him, the Bridegroom--her joy, her strength-
Her pursuit of pleasure—“I’m Thine alone, and You are Mine.”
At His coming for Her, His Bride– His Church.
Christ pursued obedience to the Father-- His life He gave to die,
For her redemption, joy and honour.
Consecrated Bride of Christ; her heart and mind,
Her pursuit of pleasure--body, soul, spirit--surrendered all.
Days, weeks, or may it be at morn;
it may be at midnight; or in the twinkling of an eye;
Cleanse our hearts, consider our ways, O Bride--
That we walk humbly, filled with mercy, faith, grace.
When the trumpet shall sound,
Our Bridegroom will come, glorious Most High
Faithful is He Who is able, O truly beautiful Bride;
Our pursuit of pleasure—His crown of glory forevermore!
