And gaze not knowing
How to understand the depth
Of what I see
And the measure
Of what I can’t
You told me that it would come
Yet still I wonder
Why You have brought it
Thoughts to fathom
Seem sand in my hands
Thy pathways to discern
Pierces and pulls
Heart pained and tattered
Pulled from the heat
The brilliance of this trial
Folded by fire
The Forger’s hand to discern
I awake to the questions
That define my soul
Pining
Why in today
And what of tomorrow
Consumed with the mystery to discern
Brought to the broken cross
I behold its beauty
Fallen upon a crimson blanket
Beneath, the victory
A desert filled with hope void
To blossoms of the garden becoming
I look to Your face
And gaze not knowing
How to understand the depth
Of all this You’ve planned
And the measure
Of Your goodness in it to me
