I liked this story. Try using quotations around the spoken parts and spaces between lines to make it easier to read. Good job!

Great story and the perspective from a child was good. Ditto on above notes.

I could picture this lovely family and the rural setting. Study other entries for models of putting dialog in quotation marks, and breaking down large paragraphs. This story is a diamond in the rough!

Great characters, setting, and loving explanation of something we ourselves often struggle to understand. Find someone who can help you arrange your dialogue, and you're well on your way!
You've painted a wonderful picture of your characters. "Ma'Dear" I loved! However, you've let yourself down on the finer points such as breaking up the dialogue and using quotation marks. Find someone to help you with this and you'll be surprised how it improves your piece. I agree: this story is definitely a diamond in the rough!

A very nice story, but hard to read without " "'s and paragraphs for each speaker.

Love the story! I could feel the warmth and love they shared. Thanks.
