Who lived as if love was a ruse.
But he found in the autumn of all his
days
A treasure too precious to lose.
For on the eve of his sixtieth year
A stranger arrived on the scene:
A man with scars deep & severe,
Who simply started to sing.
He sang a song so lowly
At first Will laughed & snickered,
But the more the man sang, slowly
A spark of yearning flickered.
For the song was of love so courageous,
Pure heavenly and sublime!
It seemed a dream outrageous,
A tale of once upon a time.
But something stirred within his heart
And whispered it was indeed so.
For truth has a voice that when heard can start
New life which hungers to grow.
By the end of the last refrain
Will bowed to the singer and sang
His song of surrender,
Humble and tender,
And he's never since been the same.
