I opened up the Word today
To see just what it had to say,
To help me with the pain I felt
Provide some words my heart to melt.
When suddenly the help I sought
Jumped from the page as my eye caught
The fact that even though I believe
Life will be difficult and I will grieve.
The pain of death and sting of life
Will still be partners on this walk of strife.
There will be trouble of every kind
Difficult seasons may rule my mind.
“Remember to pray”, grandma used to teach,
Talk to Him if you hope to reach,
Peace and happiness and a way out of trouble,
Wait with confidence as He sorts through the rubble.
For God’s will and timing will someday be plain,
You will stand tall without the cumbersome chain
That kept you so bound to the doubt and the fear
Your eyes will be opened things will be clear.
The reasons you worried and cried overnight
Will fade into memories and your heart will ignite
The flame of a scripture planted firmly in your mind
At a time when you cried for relief of some kind.
You will see clearly what was kept in the dark.
Lift up that candle and capture that spark!
Allow God to speak to you all during your plight
Take the next step and walk into the light.

You did a great job with the aabb rhyme scheme; perhaps a more regular meter would help it to flow more smoothly.
I liked the phrase 'the flame of Scripture'.
